Two night’s ago at an aunt’s house, I announced that I want to have six kids after I’m married. Maybe more God willing. I found it rather amusing that they told me I would have to marry a Peruvian man. Who knows what could happen. I leave my life in God’s hands. Peruvian men are more sentimental, everywhere I look I see couples embraced and kissing. It’s moving but it also makes me think of the immorality that exists here. This is a Catholic country yet there are very few churches. I am not judging, just observing. I know God watches over all of us and although our actions and decisions are not always pleasing to Him, He is there. He loves us no matter what, even when we find it hard to love ourselves. Only He knows our true heart. But I digress, I am anxious although very patient for God’s decision on when I will meet a God-fearing man with whom I will have many many kids with.
I visited with cousins yesterday, some younger than I, whom all have babies. That made my motherly instinct and yearning surface. I am ready for children. If I lived here, I would probably have babies by now. Not so in the USA. That’s it! When I get back home, I’m looking for my husband!
So I got my period two days ago. I’m not happý about this, especially because we have no hot water. Until two night’s ago, I hadn’t showered for three days. I don’t mind not showering but that’s uncomfortable for me when I’m on my period. I knew I was gonna get it.. but I also thought we had hot water. :-(
Tonight my brother and I leave with family for a land near the jungle (which they tell me is also near Brasil). We will travel by bus, a six hour drive during the evening. I will have my iPod with me and hopefully have my Bible or travel book. I’ve gotten mixed accounts on what the weather will be like. Most seem to agree that it’s partly warm during the day and rather chilly at night. I’ll pack for the cold. Oh and there is no hot water there either. Thank goodness for wipes. ;-)
I think my brother and I have been getting sick from the climate, it drizzles like crazy at night. Some more undeveloped locations become mudslides during those times… I only brought 3 pairs of pants. One pair got really gross yesterday so they might be retired. Who knows. I’ve been eating 4-5 times a day and my poop has become solid again. I have no clue how long that will last either.
I want to take one last paragraph and say “hi” to all my friends back home. Jenee, I miss you dearly. I have been staying out of trouble here. I am eating a like a pig, I hope that makes you proud. (HUG) Pats, if you read this… I’ll call you when I get home. You probably don’t even know I’ve left yet. I bet you’ve been calling me though. My Cherrydale folk.. I miss you guys and my next trip WILL BE to the south. Hope school is going well for all of you.
